• I am a 33 year old who was has best disease . I always new as far as I remember to have some vision problems.Glasses never seemed to really help much so I pretty much ignored it.Two years ago during an eye exam they found thr problem and was sent to speacialists.I have the dry kind not wet was told nothing could be done .It has been hard for my wife to find any information its frustrating I no the disease is rare but theres like hardly anything. I no the disease is rare.Also everything says it is a gradual vision loss not in my case . Both eyes are now 20/200 and have yet to find my family link.I did have a greatgrandmother with very low vision but not sure the cause.But no one else.Anyone else have these issues with this disease.

  You are not alone in the Best Disease vision problem, though I am very sorry to hear that your vision is at20/200 in both eyes at such an early age. Best's Disease is a rare vision disease, you are correct in that, and though you can find information about it on the internet there has not been much to help those of us with it. There are a group of us that have had live chats in the past to support and give information to one another. We used to chat live every Monday at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time ( I don't know where you are from) but we had changed the chat to the 1st Wed. and 3rd Wed. of each month and there has not been much activity since then. If you are interested in the chat I can contact the group to see if they can post a message about a time that would work for most. All of us in the chat group have vision problems ourselves or family members with vision problems or both ad a majority have Best's Disease themselves.
