GARM II: A Study on the Genetics of Age-related Maculopathy

RECRUITING

Description:  Dr. Michael Gorin at Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA is conducting a nationwide study of genetic and other risk factors that contribute to the development of age-related macular degeneration (also known as Age-Related Maculopathy). Affected individuals and family members may be eligible to participate in this observational study (this is not a treatment trial), which does not require travel to UCLA. Study participants will complete questionnaires through a confidential and secure website.

Trial Status:  Recruiting participants

Partial List of Eligibility Criteria: 

  1. Individuals from 49 to 65 years old who have/had at least one parent with macular degeneration. Spouses or partners from 49 to 65 years old can also be included in the study.
  2. Age-Related Macular degeneration affected individuals with adult children ranging in age from 49 to 65 years old who are willing to participate in the study.
