Christina Strickland

Christina StricklandHi, my name Christina Strickland. I recently graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in communications. I’ve always had a passion for helping others and was very excited to hear that FFB was looking for a new communications chair. I think it was fate. I was very involved within my sorority on campus and held various positions including philanthropy chair. I loved fundraising and being able to make a difference within my community. Moving back to Columbus and starting at FFB, I feel very fortunate that I’ve already met so many amazing people and have developed long lasting, close bonds. A cure is in sight!

oliviaOlivia Green

My name is Olivia Green and I will be a junior in high school this year. About a year and a half ago I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa. When I was diagnosed I was shocked because I had never heard of the disease and as far as we knew no one in my family has had retinitis pigmentosa. We always knew that I couldn't see in the dark, but my mom and dad thought it was just a phase and that eventually I would grow out of it. I realized something was actually wrong when I got lost in Washington D.C. on a class field trip in middle school. Once I was diagnosed by Dr. Lameo at the Eye Center, my dad looked online and eventually found the Foundation Fighting Blindness Columbus Chapter and we have been involved ever since. I am so grateful that I have been able to meet new friends. Through the Foundation I am grateful to have the opportunity to help thousands of other people try and save their sight with possible treatments and try to save other children from losing their sight.
