Dr. Carroll is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, Biophysics, Cell Biology, Neurobiology and Anatomy at the Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin Eye Institute, and also a recent grant recipient from the Foundation Fighting Blindness. Dr. Connor is a retinal specialist, and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the same institution.
You will learn about Dr. Carroll's investigation of inherited retinal diseases and the use of adaptive optics for early detection, monitoring and understanding of those diseases. These images can be used to look at such retinal diseases as AMD, RP, Stargardt, choroideremia and others. Dr. Carroll will lead a short tour of the advanced ocular imaging program, one of the few centers in the world with this technology.
Dr. Connor will give an update on recent breakthroughs in retinal disease research. There will be a question-and-answer session following the presentation. We will also have a short introduction to the 5th Annual Wisconsin VisionWalk. You won’t want to miss it!
