We had a great Speaker Series meeting Thursday, Oct. 13^, 2011 at the 1 World Medicine Clinic on 3110 S Valley View Blvd.

Mr. Steven Dezii, a National Trustee & Scientific Liaison at the Foundation Fighting Blindness spoke about the latest in stem cell technology, giving us a glimpse into what is on the horizon for stem cell therapies. Dr. Joffe, from 1 World Medicine, gave a presentation on “Lifestyle and Your Vision” reminding us to exercise, take supplements, eat more  greens and stop smoking, as these have helped other slow their progression of AMD.  And Dr. Alissa Nagel, from Vision Source discussed how to “Maximize Your Vision” with better lighting, magnifiers, various types of glasses and lenses, a good attitude, and joining a community, such as the Las Vegas VisionWalk, many people can continue to enjoy their daily activities.
