Dan Day, Chapter President
Welcome to the Orlando Chapter of FFB!

As chapter president, I want to share my personal story and why being involved with FFB is so important to me. I am affected by retinitis pigmentosa (RP) as are my brothers, my mother and others in my family. I’ve been a part of the Orlando Chapter since the early 1990s and have had the opportunity to develop some great friendships within the chapter over the years.

In addition being a part of the chapter whether in the position as president or a chapter member I have been able to be proactive and be involved in raising monies for research which I have watched evolve most rapidly in the last five years. This is promising, but I know there is still more work to be done before we truly have preventions, treatments and cures for retinal degenerative diseases, so I say steadfast in my personal mission to help stop the loss of vision.

The Orlando chapter is one of many across the country that works very hard to help people stay current on the latest research and developments concerning retinal diseases. We also learn about support services and other opportunities that are available in the Orlando and Central Florida area.

The chapter is fortunate to have an active and engaged chapter board that carries the spirit of FFB’s Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board Gordon Gund. His vision is our vision: We will save and restore sight by funding vital research.

Together we work to help support FFB’s research through the Orlando VisionWalk. As a chief ambassador for FFB, I want to make sure that as many people as possible know about our chapter, about FFB and about the hope that we all have for the future with sight.

I hope this letter encourages you to get involved on a local level and help create greater awareness about the need for a cure for retinal degenerative diseases and raise more funds so a cure can be found. The FFB Orlando Chapter welcomes your participation!

Sending our regards,

Dan Day
President
