Foundation National Trustee Jason Marcarth and Events Manager Kristi Snuttjer accepted the  VisionWalk Strides Award on behalf of the Eastern Michigan VisionWalk, from Mrs. America 2011 April Lufriu​.

The Eastern Michigan VisionWalk was presented with the Foundation’s Member Excellence VisionWalk Strides Award for a small market at the VISIONS 2012 national conference in Minneapolis in June. The honor, which recognizes significant improvement of a VisionWalk, acknowledges the event’s strong committee leadership, increased sponsor support, and new teams and walkers that helped the event raise 30 percent more funds for research in 2011, bringing in more than $80,000—both last year and this past May. Congratulations to all of the walk chairs, team captains and participants!
